Mission Accomplished

mission-accomplished.jpg Yesterday Hillary Clinton again took the opportunity to denounce President Bush for what has been called his “Mission Accomplished” speech without noting that the reason for the mission was even necessary because her husband coddled the terrorists throughout his Presidency and failed to act against bin Laden when offered thus enabling the execution of the long term plan to train terrorist in America to fly aircraft into our landmarks.

But apparently she is saying “Mission NOT Accomplished.”  If I were a member of the crew of the USS Abraham Lincoln on May 1st 2003 when the President flew to the aircraft carrier to greet the returning naval troops from Iraq upon completing a 209 day deployment (longest in U.S. Naval history)  I would be extremely upset and offended.  This was a welcoming and honoring effort by President Bush to thank the sailors for their role in “completing” the fall of Baghdad.  You see they had been given a mission and they were returning after successfully completing it.  The left has tried to spin this ever sense to suggest that Bush was claiming the war was over.  He merely claimed that “major military operations”  (i.e. INVASION) was complete which it was although there are those on the left that don’t seem or want to understand these things.

So I personally take offense at Hillary Clinton for four years later opportunistically suggesting that these brave guys didn’t complete their job all for the sake of positioning her candidacy to optimize her votes from the far left by taking a swing at the President.  You see those guys have accomplished their mission, the President properly acknowledged, honored and thanked them, yet the self serving Hilderbeast is willing to denigrate them along with Bush to advance her nonsense.

Howard Dean Flexing His Muscle

dean-scream.jpg This is too good to ignore.  In a hot off the press AP release Howard Dean said that he will punish Florida (my part year residency state) if they move their primary up.  I guess this is going to be the opportunity for Dean to demonstrate his prestige and influence by threatening to keep Democratic candidates out of Florida and presumably other sanctions.  Being that Florida is most definitely an “iffy” state for the Democrats and they can’t likely win without it all I can say to Howard is if you want a war with Florida then I have 3 words for you………”Bring it On”

Not only will Florida be punished if it moves up its presidential primary, but Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said any Democratic candidate who steps foot in the state will be too.  Dean acknowledges that Florida is the state most likely to jump ahead of states like California and New York, which are moving up to the Feb. 5 primary, but it, and any other state, will do so at a cost.  He said he supports a Jan. 19 caucus in Nevada and a Jan. 29 primary in South Carolina because it adds more diversity to the process.  Florida lawmakers make a similar argument. The state has a mix of cultures, ethnicity and race; urban and rural areas; and Southerners and transplants from the north that make it look much like the country as a whole. That, and its size they say, should give it more say in deciding the presidency.”                                                      © 2007 Associated Press.

Presidential Politics – 2

giuliani.jpg Barack Hussein Obama, the man that nobody knew (even Teddy Kennedy misspoke and called him Osama Obama), has now closed to within 5 points of Hillary Clinton in a Wall Street Journal/NBC poll released on Wednesday (4/25/07).   Just one month ago Hillary’s lead was 12 points.  Other recent polls seem to at least corroborate this finding.  USA/Today has Barack only 5 behind and Rasmussen has it all tied up.  If she has to commit large sums of money to the Primary Campaign it could impact and potentially alter her hopes to waive Federal Presidential Campaign Financing and underwrite the Presidential campaign herself, which would remove her from expenditure limitations.  But other early indicators suggest that this could all be moot.

Though it is very early in the process, additional recent polls show Giuliani leading both Obama and Clinton by comfortable margins in 3 key states: Ohio, Florida (you remember these) and Pennsylvania.  I’ll just say this right now; if the Republicans carry OH, FL & PA in 2008 they will win the Presidency.  Remember Bush carried OH and FL and lost PA in both the 2000 & 2004 elections.  Also, a Giuliani candidacy could make NY competitive forcing her to commit enormous resources to holding NY.  This is something that has not been in the Democratic game plan I assure you.  Clinton may be the only candidate that could hold Giuliani off in NY and maybe not even her.  If they would also lose NY it would be totally over for the D’s in 2008.  So maybe the picture is not so dim for the R’s in 2008.

If I were a kingmaker Giuliani would not be my pick, but he may be just the ticket for the slugfest coming up.  My largest problem with him is his stance on abortion.  He claims to be against abortion personally but pro choice philosophically; however, I believe him when he says that he would appoint judges like Scalia, Alito and Roberts.  You don’t believe it?  I do and here is why.  He is smart enough to know that his hopes of re-election would be zero if he were elected with support from the “base” (who he will absolutely need) predicated on this “pledge” and then turn around and betray them.  I’d be out in front of the revolt.  So, believing that his pro-choice views would be neutralized in the appointment of Federal Justices, especially SCOTUS, I think he may prove to be the best bet for blocking Hillary, Barack or Al from the Presidency.  The “base” didn’t show up in the last election and look what happened.  I think they learned that lesson.

Presidential Politics – 1

democrats-debate.jpg Well they’re off and running.  Last night the Democrats held their first debate leading to their nomination for the 2008 election.  Participating in the Debate were:

Biden, Clinton, Dodd, Edwards, Gravel, Kucinich, Obama & Richardson

Here are some comments from this extraordinarily brilliant group:

“The first day I would get us out of Iraq by diplomacy,” Bill Richardson.

“If this president does not get us out of Iraq, when I am president, I will,”  Hillary Rodham Clinton.

We are one signature away from ending this war,” Barack Obama.

Kucinich challenged Obama at one point for once having said all options were on the table with respect to Iran. “You’re setting the stage for another war.”

The Carbon Credit Scam

al-gore.jpg Fiona Harvey and Stephen Fidler in London writing for the Financial Times published Wednesday (April 25, 2007) an article titled: Industry Caught in Carbon ‘Smokescreen.  This is an article about “carbon credits” that the likes of algore and his Hollywood buddies are “purchasing” to provide cover as they continue to be some of the largest offenders on the planet all while complaining about the rest of us damaging the environment and contributing to what they call “man made” Global Warming.  You see they can lecture us about Global Warming because they claim they have a “carbon neutral” footprint.

Allow me to digress right here and ask this: even if it were true and they actually had a “carbon neutral” footprint what good would that do since I though it was necessary for us to REDUCE greenhouse gases in order to save the planet.  So if there is an open market trading system that abusers (algore, etc) can access to purchase credits that are available from people that have or are investing in a smaller footprint it seems to me that this is a zero sum game.  Lets further examine this scam and fraud that the writers for the Financial Time are exposing.

Start with this, the Carbon Market is unregulated and is expected to grow to a number north of $68 Billion by 2010.  This is a potential scandal that could make Enron’s energy trading scam look like a church bake sale.  The Financial Times is suggesting that these credits are being purchased for offsetting reductions that often are not actually taking place.  But isn’t it the algore’s of the world that are ostensibly the victims here?  No, not really.  Their Quid Pro Quo is the “cover” it provides them.  This trading scheme never made much sense to me as a viable market that would achieve anything and I suspect that algore knows that too, but what they are actually purchasing is credibility on a politically hot issue without having to walk the walk as they talk the talk.  For goodness sake, they can afford this bit of “goodwill” if they can continue to hog resources yet not diminish their political or celebrity viability.  Here are some other interesting findings of this investigation:

■ Widespread instances of people and organizations buying worthless credits that do not yield any reductions in carbon emissions.

■ Industrial companies profiting from doing very little – or from gaining carbon credits on the basis of efficiency gains from which they have already benefited substantially.

■ Brokers providing services of questionable or no value.

■ A shortage of verification, making it difficult for buyers to assess the true value of carbon credits.

■ Companies and individuals being charged over the odds for the private purchase of European Union carbon permits that have plummeted in value because they do not result in emissions cuts.”

I think it is time that the media and controlling political establishment in Washington (the Democrats) start doing their job and bring some credibility to the flippant claims of all these offenders who operate without ever having to account for their self described “honest” measures in this area.  But before I close here I will re-assert my position that I believe the predominate cause of Global Warming is Solar Activity (duh – heat comes from the Sun, right?) as previously stated in my post of 4/25/2007 The Missing Honey Bees   and not from “man made sources.”

UPDATE::::::::::   Here is another relevant link to an article from the AP concerning a DVD coming out refuting algore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth” and a separate controversey surrounding this new DVD.  This DVD also takes the position that increased Solar Activity is the primary cause of Global Warming.  I found it at the Conversations with Brit and Grit blog……thanks for the tip fellows.  ……..stevereenie

The Missing Honey Bees

honey-bees.jpg  Honey Bees are missing by the billions and pollination accounts for 1/3 of the human diet.  Some think it is cell phone towers but another seems to know what he’s talking about and blames it on the increase of solar radiation which he feels is proof that the same solar radiation is primarily responsible for Global Warming.  Makes more sense to me than algore or Sheryl Crow.  I have listened to much discussion on the topic and have heard “out of favor” experts claim that to the extent that Global Warming exists is due to increased solar activity and ASOC (author below) puts it in more learned mathematical terms.

Bees are not returning to the hive. They get lost. Why? Bees use sunlight to navigate. Measurements of the interommatidial angle (Δφ) and facet diameter (D) of the same ommatidia in a number of insects and crustaceans with large eyes have been related to the effective intensity at which the eye functions by the following theory. The highest spatial frequency which the eye is able to reconstruct as a pattern is limited by the interommatidial angle Δφ, which is the sampling angle, because two ommatidia are required to cover each cycle of the pattern. At the same time, the absolute modulation of light in the receptors caused by the pattern depends on three interdependent factors. (a) The theoretical minimum angular sensitivity function, which has a width of λ/D at the 50% level. The wavelength λ is taken as 0.5 μm. This component is not only the limiting angular resolving power of the lens: it reduces modulation caused by all patterns, with greater loss at higher spatial frequencies. Larger lenses increase resolution and sensitivity. (b) The effective light catching area of the rhabdom. This is the angular subtense of the rhabdom area (the receptor) as seen in the outside world (i.e. subtended through the posterior nodal point of the lens), and is the equivalent of the grain size in a film. Since we now know global warming (yep, it ties together) is due to changes in the intensity of the sun and a (+)change in energy at certain wavelengths. How can the bee disappearance be overlooked as positive proof that solar radiation is the (primary) cause of global warming?”

The Queen of Nice

rosie-odonnell.jpg So the Queen of Nice is at it again.  Now that she doesn’t have to pretend any longer to be something she isn’t, she isn’t bothering with it.  Do you want your daughters going to an outing like this when they are merely examining career options?  This doesn’t begin to address the double standard in the media where it will protect its liberal darlings for the same things they criticize others for and demand their heads.

From NewsMax.Com

Don Imus gets fired for one unfortunate remark. Rosie O’Donnell uses the F-word and grabs her crotch when she emcees a gala awards presentation, even though there are teenage girls on hand – and gets applauded. The event was the Matrix Awards honoring New York’s prominent women in the media, held Monday afternoon at Manhattan’s Waldorf-Astoria. After the show Beth Ellen Keyes, managing director of the group sponsoring the affair, N.Y. Women in Communications, said in an e-mail: “Rosie was fabulous.” Not everyone would agree. According to the New York Post’s Page Six column, Barbara Walters “lowered her head on the dais and covered her face with her hand” when Rosie dropped the F-bomb. O’Donnell ended a rant about Donald Trump by grabbing her crotch and shouting, “Eat me!” One attendee told the Post: “I cringed and dove under the table when she said, ‘Eat me.’” She also called Trump an “old, bald billionaire” and made a crude reference to his private parts.

“I was offended by how vulgar and common O’Donnell was,” said Robert Zimmerman, a Democratic activist. “It was especially inappropriate with young people present.”

Attendees include 17 high school girls who won scholarship to pursue careers in the media.

Also on hand: Media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Sen. Hillary Clinton.”

Are you Pro-Choice? (on Retirement Planning)

social-security-protest.jpg The beat goes on.  After decades the political apparatus in this country has continued to fail concerning the bankrupt and obsolete retirement system.  I read posts and hear speeches and sermons about how little people have to live off from their “Social Security” checks and what is a “caring and socially conscience society” going to do about it (on both the corporate and individual level), but I never hear the socially aware say anything about the fact that the original proponents of the Social Security System designed it to be a “supplement” to retirement income and never expected to be a full retirement system, but you have heard that before.  They still continue to ignore this because of the greater problem of caring for the elderly (which I am rapidly approaching myself, but no faster than you, just probably much closer) and the impact on society of ignoring it.  If this is a boring topic for you, think again, this will indeed affect you adversely more and much more than you would ever believe and the younger you are (and farthest away from retirement) the greater the negative impact will be. The problem is the solution has been taken off the table by the left and made the “3rd Rail” in American politics.  This is not an unintended consequence of the debate, but a carefully crafted strategy of the politically left (including anarchists, Socialists, Communists, many Democrats, few Republicans and a lot of people on the receiving end of entitlements) looking to extend their political power thru lies and fear.  What should be FEARED is the lefts inability to deal with the real problem.

Lets put one thing to rest.  The Social Security System is largely a government handout.  I know that you continue to hear the retirement community talk of this system as though they paid for it (for all these years) and are entitled to it “so don’t mess with it.”  Well it is not true, even a lie.  When I entered the workforce and began contributing to the retirement system, it was a very small percentage of your income based as a factor against only $3,500 of your payroll.  Without running the numbers I would say that most people on Social Security are way beyond their contribution and the contribution on their behalf by their employers including some factor for imputed interest.  This is truly a tax on the working class that can’t even afford to adequately fund their own 401-K’s, IRA’s and savings for children’s education, etc.  This is a tax that will eventually become an intolerable burden on the youth of this country.  Whatever pain we must be endured to fix it will only get worse as time goes on.  Failure to act is an affirmative action of worsening the problem

The left takes these same points and forms a disingenuous argument for “higher taxes on the rich” and singing the mantra that the wealthy aren’t paying their fair share, blah…blah….blah (see The Dinner Lesson).  This is divisive politics that even if implemented would certainly exacerbate the problem exponentially.  (In short the system is going to claim such a large portion of the resources of the country you would never be able to tax your way out of it even if you confiscate the entire wealth of the top 2%, 5%, 10% or whatever.)  The only system that will work for the people that need the retirement money and the people that are providing it is a solution that both provides for a “growing” economy and “participates” in it.  [Isn’t that obvious?].

Start with this, history has proven time and again (though denied by political opportunists from the left) that low taxes stimulate growth in the economy (most recently by the Bush tax cut that revived us from the Clinton recession when the left predicted that it would make things worse).  Ok, then what else can we do …….?   By changing the retirement system to one that allows the capital of the Social Security savings pool be invested in corporate America on an individual account basis.  Oh no, he said the dirty “C” word.  Well listen to this …. Hello, if Corporate America fails so will the government sponsored Social Security System.  I dare you to show me one person that can sanely argue that we can solve our Social Security problem by taxing our way out of it even in the face of a failing corporate system (i.e. capitalism).  If Americans, especially the American youth, can control their own retirement and put the money in the stock market they not only can but will have more retirement than even the most optimistic hopes for the Social Security System, including the lefts fatuous scheme to tax us out of the problem. (Actually I believe their rhetoric on this is mainly a get out the vote program for liberals).

The left would have you believe that this is a risky proposition and they come on with that every time the stock market takes a dip and say that your 401-K just went down, look what would happen to your retirement if the Republicans were in control.  A notable and recent example is the Stock Market fall off that started during the Clinton administrations final year culminating with the Clinton recession and 911.  Congress passed the Bush tax cut that delivered this country from the last recession and has built a strong economy, all while the Democrats were kicking, screaming and lying.  The real risk is the foreseeable disaster from not acting.  There is zero possibility that the funds will be there if we don’t fix the system and soon.  It is equally true that trying to solve the problem through taxes will ultimately transfer a burden on the youth where every worker will be taxed in an amount to support 3, 4 or more retirees.  Just look at the baby boomer bubble and draw your own conclusions.  So we are dependent on corporate America whether we favor the Government bankrupted Social Security System or private investment accounts (in lieu of the government system).  If corporate America fails, so will the stock market as well as government controlled pension (who do you think will provide the money for Social Security if corporate America fails?).  So corporate America (i.e. Capitalism) is the only option we have to solve the problem and lying to the American public isn’t going to solve anything.  Both the stock market and the Social Security System  are dependent on the growth of the economy and inextricably tied together.

But corporate America won’t fail to deliver ………. why you ask?  The answer is because of population demographics.  As the population grows, also does the need for goods and services that will be provided by corporate America.  The difference is whether we want Americans to participate in the “profits” from their expenditures or merely the corporations.   Over my life I have heard repeated complaints about risking investment money in the stock market by the left, but you can pick literally any point in American stock market history when you might have invested money and today it would be higher than ever before and greatly higher than the COLA (cost of living adjustments) of the Social Security System (that is bankrupting it).  You don’t believe it?  Take your pick of entry points.  So history shows that the left is not merely often wrong about this but that they have been wrong every time, but they never seem to learn from their error which is why I believe they do so to control you by controlling your security.

In short our only way out of the retirement/Social Security mess is through individual accounts in lieu of government controlled Social Security, even if mandatory.  The risk of the Social Security System failing is far greater than that of the economy of the country because it itself is dependent on it.  You should at least be given the choice as to your own retirement future.  So become Pro Choice for retirement and tell someone, preferably your Congressman!

Barack Hussein Obama – “Kingmaker”

barack-obama.jpg There is something to be said about saying something early or maybe even first.  If you are right you have such insight, but if you are wrong well then you are just plain WRONG.  But at the risk of being WRONG I will venture out here a bit and offer a scenario that I believe has a high probability of coming to fruition.

First, as you have most likely already read, Al Gore is clandestinely forming a campaign management team.  I think he is going to run.  I read one blogger say sometime ago that once you have run for President that nothing else quite measures up.  So lets say that this now makes three contenders in the Democratic Presidential sweepstakes (Barack Obama, H. Clinton and Algore).  You see I think that Edwards, Richardson and any of the others (announced and unannounced) are merely pretenders not contenders and that all of these (except Edwards) may be in the race to balance some kind of ticket as a Vice Presidential selection.

This is a vain and mistaken assessment on their part.  I am not sure whether it will be Hillary or Al, but to me it is increasing likely that the VP nominee will be Barack Obama.  Why?  Because he will emerge as the kingmaker (in my opinion).  That is to say that the delegate count will be split largely between the 3 contenders with a few to the pretenders but with no single candidate having enough to win a first ballot victory at the Democratic National Convention during the Summer of 2008.  The back room dealing will put Obama in the power position of not taking the nomination but becoming the kingmaker (at a cost) and I think we will see Obama on the ticket somewhere and here are my probabilities.  Obama on the top of the ticket 10%,  Obama Veep to Hillary 40%, Obama Veep to Gore 50%.  We’ll see, stay tuned……….

P.S. This would definitely sink a Hillary candidacy in my opinion and could likely “Inconveniently” sink the “Truth” bandwagon of Algore.

Anti-Jihadist

I just came across a Blog that is a pretty aggressive and strong voice against Jihadist Islam.  You might want to check it out: Foehammer’s Anvil.  He had a very appropriate verse reference for the site, it could be a tagline.  “They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God.”  (words of Jesus in John 16:2)

The Radical Muslim blog is strongly pro-Islamic and seemingly equally active in their pursuit against those that wish to fight against Jihad which just came to me via Conversations with Brit and Grit and comments by Foehammer’s Anvil.  You might want to check Foehammer’s Anvil out.  You’ll find a link in my Blogroll…
